Democratic Party National Executive meeting was disrupted after a section of the party supporters stormed the new party offices in Lubaga along Balintuma road
Fred Mukasa Mbidde, the DP Vice President, who is also a member of the East African Legislative Assembly, was attacked and injured in the fracas.
Reports coming in indicate that he has been flown to Nairobi, Kenya for specialized treatment after sustaining head injuries inflicted on him.
His office has released a statement indicating that he flew out of the country on Sunday to Kenya to treat the wounds.
“EALA Commissioner Hon. Fred Mukasa Mbidde has been flown to Nairobi- Kenya for a Comprehensive Medical check- up after obtaining injuries on his Head on Friday,” said a statement.
“Hon. Mbidde was stoned by detractors who were hired by Party rebels to sabotage the Democratic party National Executive Committee meeting and is now feared to have suffered a skull Fracture and accordingly recommended for a “Computed Tomography” in Nairobi.
After receiving the emergency Medical Assistance, Hon. Fred Mukasa Mbidde will fly to Arusha- Tanzania and he is expected to land at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda over the weekend.”
The party President Norbert Mao had called the NEC members to resolve the ongoing wrangles in the party.
