Museveni arrives in Ethiopia for two-day visit

President Museveni has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a two-day working visit on the invitation of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali.

The President will this evening attend the official inauguration of the Unity Park, found in the restored National Palace, in the heart of Addis.

He was received by his host, Ethiopian Prime Minister, Ahmed Abiy Ali at the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. “Arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on the invitation of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali to, among others, attend the inauguration of the Unity Park later today. I thank His Excellency Abiy for the invitation,” the President posted on his social media.

Leaders of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Member States are in Addis Ababa to attend the inauguration of Unity Park which was built in the premises of the Grand National Palace. Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok of Sudan, President Salva Kiir of South Sudan, President Mohammed Abdulahi Mohammed of Somalia and President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya have also arrived in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.

Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, the leaders were received by Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia. The ‘Unity Park’, which is a manifestation of the MEDEMER (synergy) idea, will be inaugurated on Thursday afternoon.“Unity Park symbolizes our ability to come together for a common goal and cross the finish line by creating exquisite lasting prints of our collective worth,” said office of the Prime Minister.
