Several musicians yesterday held a strategic meeting to see how to deal with the incoming regulations from government. Among those in attendance were Mesach Semakula, Irene Namatovu, Sarah Zawedde, Irene Namatovu, Catherine Kusasira, Dr.Hildaman, Kenzo and Big Eye.
The meeting held at Jahazi Pier Munyonyo had many musicians come to voice their disenchantment with the new regulations.
“United we STAND, divided we FALL. Artists meeting yesterday. #Jahazi pier Munyonyo. For God and my country.” Zawedde posted on her Facebook pages.
The regulations tackle a number of issues and are designed to streamline the industry. However, critics argue that the regulations are instituted to counter the growing influence of musician Bobi Wine, who they think has become a headache’ to government.
