Her replacement, Barekye has recently served as a Senior Presidential Advisor on Economic Affairs.

Lucy Nakyobe started working at State House in the early 1990s.

“I thank President Museveni for the opportunity he gave me to serve all this long, and I urge my successor to serve with diligence. Be a leader who knows the way, shows the way and goes the way” Nakyobe said as she handed over several files to Barekye.

The office of the State House Comptroller is an administrative one although it also extends to covering duties of mobilization and coordination of everything related to State House, the official home of the president.

At the public service, Nakyobe will be responsible for streamlining several pending changes that include the planned merger of agencies designed to improve efficiency and reduce costs of operation.
