Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze has asked artiste Joseph Mayanja, alias Jose Chameleone, to prove that he will not be “a chameleon” in the Democratic Party (DP).
Nambooze, one of the senior DP members also accused Chameleon of sneaking into DP illegally.
According to her, DP’s President General Norbert Mao erred in law and principle in unveiling Jose Chameleone officially to the party, an act that Mao should be disciplined for.
The party’s vice president for Buganda, Betty Nambooze, while reacting to the appointment said party president Nobert Mao disrespected them by adding Chameleone to DP without consulting them.
The Leone Island boss was unveiled and consequently appointed as the National Mobilizer of the party on Wednesday to which Nambooze disagrees with.
She noted that for one to join DP, it is should be done through a village branch and the National Executive Committee gets notified.
“For one join DP, it should be through a branch, you go to a village from where you join the party and the National Executive Committee will be notified. she said.
