The National Super Alliance (NASA) has announced that demonstrations to push for reforms in the Independent Electro and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) resume today October 24th
The opposition party says that they are continuing to protest until the necessary changes are realized and free and fair elections held.
Siaya Senator James Orengo said the coalition’s demand for free and fair elections are imperative to safe guarding Kenya’s democracy.
“Our constitution grants us the right to protect and will continue doing so peacefully despite being met with violence and intimidation each time as people, we have overcome such tactics before.”Orenga said.
Last week the coalition suspended it’s thrice a week demonstration as they mourned the death of their supporters who they claimed were killed by police in Kisimu, Siaya, HomaBay, Migori and Nairobi.
Meanwhile elections are set for this Thursday October 26th and the election Agency in Kenya say they are prepared for elections and some of the ballot papers come yesterday and some are coming today despite the ten cases filed against the elections.
They say the cases must be sorted by Wednesday.
