Emmerson Mnangagwa the transitional president of Zimbabwe has rewarded the military with cabinet posts in the new government that he has formed.

In the reshuffle which saw many other minister dropped he appointed Sibusiso Moyo the general who made the announcement of the coup has been appointed the foreign minister. Although he holds a PhD in International Relations, observers see his role in the coup as the principal reason he has been rewarded with the docket.

Perence Shiri, the head of the airforce is the new minister of agriculture and land affairs.

Chris Mutsvangwa the head of the war veterans association is the new information minister.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa is widely expected to hand over the vice presidency to a general, most likely Gen.Chiwenga who led the putsch against former president Robert Mugabe.
Critics have lashed out at president Mnangagwa for recycling old faces who have been part of the regime for the last 37 years.
“What a missed opportunity! The honeymoon is over even before it had begun. What shame!” Tendai Biti, a former finance minister (2009 to 2013) wrote on his twitter handle.
Media Mogul Trevor Ncube has also criticized the new ensemble of cabinet.
“Largely the same people that caused this crisis have been recycled. The honeymoon comes to an end and reality dawns. His concern seems to have been rewarding those who brought him to power and Zanu-PF unity,” Ncube said.
The new cabinet takes office at a time president Mnangagwa announced a “new and unfolding democracy.”
