Ruth Nankabirwa the Government Chief whip has said National Resistance Movement (NRM) has no money to distribute to MPs in support of age-limit removal.
She has come out to clear media rumours on Mps being bribed with money to support the proposed Bill.
“Media papers write that I am the one distributing money, I have sacks of money”, says Nankabirwa
She adds that these false allegations incite the public and the party suffers from debts and other financial constraints to give out money.
President Yoweri Museveni the chair person of the party declared his support for the bill and this was during NRM caucus meeting on October 13.
In the same meeting members laid a comprehensive plan on consultations from local council and community leaders.
Some NRM MPs who disagreed with the bill were expelled from the meeting including Theodore Ssekikubo, Patrick Nsaba, Monica Amend, Barnabas Tikasiimire and Alex Ruhunda among others.
These later told journalists in a press conference that their colleagues who remained in the meeting were given money to support the bill.
