The Deputy Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Richard Todowng has spoken out on rumors that his properties were about to be attached by an unnamed Bank in Kampala. Online reports were filled with claims that the NRM boss was living in despair following public announcements about the take over.
“Those are my enemies who want to cause me disfavor among well meaning members of the public. It is true that I had challenges clearing a bank loan months ago when NRM delayed to pay our salaries. But I eventually sorted it out once I was paid and there is no more problem,” Todwong said.
He added that the incident happened in 2016 and he was still wondering why it could be brought up again when he had already cleared the money.
“This is political blackmail for certain,” the soft spoken Deputy Secretary General said.
