The Uganda Cranes Goal keeper Denis Onyango has been nominated for the 2017 African Player of the Year award.
Uganda Cranes’ Mbwana Samata and Micheal Olunga are also among other players on a 30-man list released by the Africa soccer governing body, Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The winner will be decided by votes from the Head Coaches/Technical Directors of the National Associations affiliated to CAF, members of the CAF Technical and Development Committee and a panel of Media Experts.
Riyad Mahrez the Leicester winger is the reigning African Player of the year having beaten Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sadio Mané to the award.
The Awards Gala will take place on Thursday January 4, 2018 in Accra, Ghana.
