Justice and constitutional affairs minister Gen Kahinda Otafiire has warned the youth especially those in high institutions of learning against being used by greedy and unpatriotic politicians to achieve own interests.
He said although youth regard such politicians as part of them they are not as useful as the current leaders in government who were focused and risked their lives as they picked up guns to fight bad governance especially the of late Iddi Amin Dada
He said much as Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) has joined politics, the ghetto that he was exposed to has not yet moved out of him adding that if not isolated, he may end up landing youth who is mobilizing to cause anarchy and trouble.
Otafire once again warned Bobi Wine and his supporters over misusing and misrepresenting the people’s power phrase that does not reflect the will of majority Ugandans, to disorganize the country to stop or else they will soon be in trouble.
The minister added that the army is ready to crash whoever is misusing and misrepresenting people’s power for selfish interests.
“I have heard all this noise about People Power; which power do you represent, where are these people? The one we know is the LCI chairperson, people power is exercised by the LCI chairperson through the ballot box,” Gen. Otafiire at a meeting held in Kashenshero Town Council.
“We will guard this power using the army and air force. Whoever tries to disrupt this power, you are welcome but what will come next, don’t regret,” he added.
He said people’s power is derived from the ballot box and exercised by Local Council one chairperson and vowed that they guard this power using the army and air force.
Gen. Otafiire was meeting people and students of Mitooma districts living in Kampala who had invited him for a meeting to draw strategies for development and unity of their district.
They tasked him to continue helping the district and also urged him to contest again in the next coming general elections
