Peekaboo Daycare and Kindergarten is a beautiful pre-school facility located in Kampala Uganda. It serves the parents of Naguru and beyond with a fantastic blend of curricula and extra-curricula activities for their children. We visited the daycare today and were amazed by what we saw. The management also told us about their work and why children who come and study there are changed for the better.
Monday Times: Good afternoon Madam. Thank you for the warm reception. We wanted to know what services you have to offer at Peekaboo Daycare and Kindergarten.
Management of Peekaboo Daycare and Kindergarten: You are welcome here. Basically we run four classes at Peekaboo namely: Day care which caters for children of 3 months to 3 years. Within the Daycare class we have Kresh which is the Play Group which hosts children of 2 to 3 years.
We then have Poppy which is ideally our baby class, carrying children of 3 years to 4 years.
The Sherry Class is next which in some places is referred to as middle class. This one has children of the age of 4 to 5 years.
Gardinia is our top most class which hosts children of 5 to 6 years. It is basically Pre-Primary.
Apart from our classes we have different activities which enhance the learning of our children. We have sports (soccer and basketball), music, ballet, Zumba for kids, cookery, gardening, religious activities, and a reading and writing club.
So we have an all round educational package for our children.
Monday Times: Okay. So what time of the year do you admit children?
Management of Peekaboo Daycare and Kindergarten: We admit children all year round and we also work all year round. So a parent can feel free to contact us any time of the year.
Monday Times: How different is Peekaboo Daycare and Kindergarten from other similar schools?
Management of Peekaboo Daycare and Kindergarten: Well we blend our curriculum to include both the national and international one. It is therefore a rich learning experience for the children. We prepare our children for the first class schools whether national or international. We do things that are up to standard.
Monday Times: When do you open and when do you close?
Management of Peekaboo Daycare and Kindergarten: We open from Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm.
Monday Times: Do you have transportation for the children?
Management of Peekaboo Daycare and Kindergarten: We do organize transport for those who want.
Monday Times: If I want to register my child but I do not want to come here, how best can I do so?
Management of Peekaboo Daycare and Kindergarten: We prefer that you come to the school first then later the child can come. A parent should see where their child is going to study.
Monday Times: Is it possible for a child who has not been in the school to join in a class without studying in the previous classes?
Management of Peekaboo Daycare and Kindergarten: Well it is possible but we first give them an assessment. If they are not capable we send them back to the lower class to be groomed well and then they are promoted.
Monday Times: Okay. So where are you located?
