NRM Secretary General, Justine Kasule Lumumba on Wednesday, December 11th 2019 renewed her marriage vows with her husband at Rubaga Cathedral.
Ms Lumumba came out as a perfect bride in a bejewelled white gown accentuating it with a tiara and a long veil. She looking amazingly happy.
Her husband wore an ash grey suit, matched with a silver bowtie to match the embellishments in his wife’s dress.
The couple has been married for twenty years with two sons.
Lumumba who wanted to become a nun, veered away from her childhood dream, stumbling into marriage and later politics, which have raised her to fame.
“Despite having missed being a nun, I am a fervent Catholic, who never misses mass,” she told New Vision last year.
Lumumba credits the diversion from her dream vocation to her husband, Patrick Lumumba, whom she met at Kyambogo University.
Lumumba confessed that her dream was shattered by Baaba w’Abaana, Patrick Lumumba, whose love drove her crazy, forcing her to change goal posts.
“I must confess that he diverted my thoughts,” she said.
Lumumba is an educator and politician.
She is the current Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement, the ruling political party in Uganda.
She was appointed to that position on 23 December 2014, replacing Amama Mbabazi.
Prior to that, she served as the Chief Government Whip in the Cabinet of Uganda from May 2011 until December 2014.
Justine Lumumba Kasule also served as the elected Member of Parliament for Bugiri District Women’s Representative, from 2001, until her resignation in December 2014.
