President Yoweri Museveni has testified about Pope Francis who prayed for him and his fractured arm got healed.

Museveni, speaking at the 50 years’ anniversary  celebrations of Kampala Archdiocese at Namugongo Catholic Shrine, remarked that he met Pope in New York, USA for the UN General Assembly.

“I had fractured my hand accidentally by hitting something and when I met him (Pope Francis), somehow we were in the same room in the UN General Assembly. I was coming from the podium after making a speech and he was going to make his, so he prayed for me and my fractured hand got healed,” President Museveni said

He recognised the Chief celebrant Cardinal Fernando Filoni  from Rome who represented the Pope, noting that “Pope Francis has become a good friend of ours. You remember he came here to celebrate the anniversary of the martyrs.”

Kampala Archdiocese, on Sunday October 29th,  celebrated 50 years of existance under the theme; “Remember, Rejoice and Renew.

Museveni described the Golden Jubilee as a thanks giving  to God for the protection through the turbulent period 1966 to 1986 where about 800,000 people were killed extra-judiciary.

Museveni is an Evangelical Christian and preaches a few times at the Miracle Centre Cathedral, a church he inaugurated in 2004.
