Bright Anukani scored the only goal of the day as Proline rounded off an outstanding season by edging Wakiso Giants to become 2018 StarTimes Ugandan FUFA Big League Champion.
Proline topped the Rwenzori group while Wakiso Giants were Elgon group winners as the two sides earned straight promotions to the 2019/20 StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
All subsequent efforts from either side were fruitless hence ending the game 1-0 and Proline were crowned champions.
Wakiso looked to be in control of the game but were still struggling to create chances.
On 65 minutes, Ojick made a good turn inside the box but his goal-bound shot was pushed out for a fruitless corner kick by the keeper.
With 15 minutes to play, Ndugwa collided with Mustafa Muguzi in the air and the striker came off worse. Ndugwa was forced off leaving Wakiso to play the rest of the game, a man less.
The victory means Shafick Bisaso’s side make an instant return to the top flight as champions of the second tier.
