The champions of the Azam Uganda Premier League, Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) put up a spirited show against SC Villa in Masaka, but unfortunately lost 2-1.
The twelve -time winners suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 2-1 to SC Villa on Saturday.
The host got an early goal through midfielder Allan Kyambadde after just four minutes.
Kyambadde grabbed a clearance from Habib Kavuma before sending a powerful shot beating captain of the day- Benjamin Ochan in the KCCA FC goal.
In ten minutes to full time, KCCA won a free kick; Saddam Juma swung it in before Timothy Awany made the connection to level matters.
KCCA coach Mike Mutebi admitted his team was struggling to meet standards set last season in the Azam Uganda Premier League.
Mutebi made an early change of Sadam Ibrahim Juma replacing Allan Kateragga in midfield.
The lose left them six on ten points, four less than the leading team Onduparaka.
But with only seven out of 28 matches played, Mutebi remains confident they are still in control of their destiny.
“When you look back at the last two championships we have won,” he quoted on the club website.
KCCA next play Masavu on November 4 at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
