A nasty accident on Saturday afternoon occurred at Mabira Forest along Jinja Road leaving several people lifeless and others with life threatening injuries.
By press time, the number of the dead and injured hadn’t been established by the police yet, although locals feared that at least 12 people might have lost lives in the accident.
It’s reported that the tragedy occurred after trailer truck that was heading from Jinja side to Kampala lost control and veered off its lane, ramming into two commuter taxis and two boda-bodas that had passengers.
The boda-boda riders and passenger reportedly died on the spot while other victims in the taxis who sustained injuries have been rushed to Kawolo Hospital.
At the time of filing this story traffic police officers were yet to reach the accident scene, although rescuers were doing everything possible to pull victims out of the wreckages.
