Singer Winnie Nwagi is allegedly plotting an exit from Swangz Avenue after being sidelined. The ‘musawo’ singer has been nursing anger for the last few months, after the record company swung all its attention to Johnny come lately singer Vinka.

“Winnie is unhappy. If things do not change, she will be gone before 2019,” a close pal of the artiste who is based at Kabalagala’s Kings Gate Mall told this newspaper.

Sources close to the management of Swangz however say, Vinka was simply Irene Ntale’s replacement. After parting ways with Ntale, Swangz Avenue looked around for another artiste to take her place. They landed on none other than her former manager Veronica Lugya.

“We have big plans for Winnie and we are aware that she is patient with the state of things. She knows where we have both been from, so there should be no need to worry,” one source claimed.

Vinka seems to be the main agenda for the label however. She is releasing many songs and is booked on several performances, yet Winnie Nwagi is almost unheard of these days. When asked by a journalist if she was planning to leave Swangz Avenue, Nwagi recently said “not yet.” Her response seemed to be calculated to show that anytime she would be out.
