As the storm continues to rise about SK Mbuga’s wife Angella Vivienne Chebet (also known as Jalia Birungi) dealings with Sten Heinsoo an elderly Swedish politician, the tycoon known for a fleet of expensive cars has come out to deny allegations of participating in the fraud.

Last week social media was awash with allegations of how the Mbuga’s stole UShs 23 billion from the Swedish politician who claims to have been in love with Vivien before they fell apart.

Mbuga issued a statement to the press explaining how his wife actually acted as a translator for the politician but the rest of the story was false.

“I do not know where this is coming from but those stories were there two years ago and were dismissed even by prosecutors in Sweden,” Mbuga said.

Meanwhile Uganda Police has denied the existence of a warrant of arrest for Mbuga. Towards the end of last week, it was alleged that Swedish police had asked Uganda Police to arrest Mbuga and his wife.

Mbuga also denies that his wife is missing as a result of the allegations. He said she is on holiday but will be seen soon.

According to a local newspaper, Swedish investigators pursued the Mbuga’s for about a year investigating the type of life they were living. They also went to his home in Buziga and found a fleet of cars that they thought was linked to the alleged fraud.

The Swedish newspaper that published news about the scandal wrote that it is believed that Mbuga and his wife used some of the money stolen from the Swedish politician to organize their wedding in Uganda.
