The Port of Durban was closed as a result of the storm. Ships were grounded delaying scheduling transportation of Cargo, from the busy port.

One of the victims of the storm is a DJ whose brand new BMW M3 was washed away near the Durban Harbour.

The DJ name withheld says “We were having breakfast and talking when I noticed my car seemed to be moving. I initially thought I had left my handbrake down. I was not able to get to the car because the stormy conditions were so bad and I saw that my girlfriend fell over and seemed to be injured so I ran to her”
