Former Presidential Press Secretary, Joseph Tamale Mirundi has vowed to humiliate city lawyer Kassim Male Mabirizi, who sued him for defamation.

Early this week, Mabirizi dragged Mirundi to court for defaming him by claiming that he has been fronted by Minister Sam Kutesa to destroy the reputation of Rt. Hon Speaker Rebecca Kadaga.

However, Mirundi says Mabirizi, made a mistake by coming after him, and that he is going to regret it.

“Many people have accused me of disrespecting Buganda Kingdom but I have never dragged the Kabaka to court like this man did,” Mirundi said last evening.

He added that by the end of the defamation case, many people will thank him for putting the unruly lawyer in his place.

“I have already instructed my lawyers to file in court my defence. I have two lawyers at my home who studied in Scotland. Do you think you are the only one in town?”

In his suit before the High court, Mabirizi alleges that Mirundi defamed him while appearing on 107.9 Pearl FM last Saturday, March 23, 2019.

The city lawyer contends that while on the show, Mirundi claimed that Mabirizi is occasionally used by Foreign Affairs minister, Sam Kutesa. Kutesa is reportedly interested in taking over the job of the Speaker of Parliament currently occupied by Rebecca Kadaga.

He says Mirundi’s statements have damaged his reputation among people who had earlier taken him to be a serious person fighting for truth and fairness because they now view him in bad light. Mabirizi wants Mirundi to retract his statements using the same way they were broadcast and circulated.

Mabirizi is the man behind the age limit case and land case against Buganda King Ronald Muwenda Mutebi.
