Two Tanzanians were Tuesday denied entry into Kenya at the Isibania border point after they tested positive for coronavirus, Health CAS Rashid Aman said.
The two will report back to the relevant authorities for isolation and contact tracing.
The CAS said the government is upscaling security on border points and testing truck drivers to contain cross border infections.
“Today I have dispatched a high-level delegation from the Health Ministry led by Dr Patrick Amoth to Kajiado. The team will also pay a visit to the Namanga border to ascertain the measures we need to put in place to curtail cross border transmission,” the CAS said.
This comes after he announced on Monday that 14 positive cases were recorded at the border point in Namanga which included nine Kenyans and five Tanzanians.
Aman said five of those Tanzanian drivers were found to be positive within their country.
