Uganda Cranes Depart For Abu Dhabi Training Camp

Uganda Cranes contingent headed to Abu Dhabi from Kabira Country Club for a three week residential camp ahead of the AFCON Finals due in Egypt.

The team departed Entebbe International Airport in the early morning hours of Monday, 27th May 2019 with a brief stopover in Cairo city, Egypt.

The 13 players who left the country on Monday morning are captain; Denis Onyango, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda, Joseph Ochaya, Timothy Awanyi, Godfrey Walusimbi, Patrick Henry Kaddu, Mugabi Bevis, Muleme Isaac, Aucho Khalid, Taddeo Lwanga, Allan Kyambadde, Moses Waisswa and Murushid Jjuuko.

Team captain Onyango has praised the spirit of diligence and commitment exhibited by the technical team and the players for the two weeks that they had camped at Kabira Country club, Bukoto.

“I am very impressed that the players showed a high spirit of character and dedication through the two weeks in camp at Kabira. I also thank the technical team and the federation for preparing the team. I am indebted to the Government for the financial support and logistical support offered to the team over the years. The morale is high,” Onyango stated.

There are 15 more players who will fly to Abu Dhabi to join the group that started its journey from Kampala with a stopover in Cairo, Egypt.

The team departed Cairo by 11:25 AM (East Africana Standard Time) for the final destination.

While in Abu Dhabi, the team will polish up their training regime and play two international build up matches.
