Several Ugandans are some of the at least 20 people who are reported to have died when a Modern Coast Bus crashed into a group of businesses on the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
The bus company has released the names of the deceased in a list to the relatives of passengers who were in the bus.
The accident occurred at 11am on Tuesday at the notorious Sachangwan area.
13 vehicles were involved including the Modern Coast bus, four Nissan Matatus, a land cruiser, prado, truck and several other private vehicles.
Sources at the scene of the accident say the driver could have been driving on free gear.
“It appears as if he was moving in free gear,” the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) Director General, Francis Mejja told this newspaper.
Casualties were taken to Molo Level Four hospital. Some others were taken to Nakuru Level Five hospital while others were rushed to Nakuru Level Five hospital.
