Vision Group, the leading media conglomerate in Uganda has assembled over 50 lawyers to quash Pastor Bugingo’s plan to sue them for reporting about his adultery. It all started when Bugingo’s scandal came out and Vision Group newspapers especially Bukedde highlighted the scandal as a disgrace to the Pentecostal church. In response, Bugingo took to his pulpit and started attacking the media group.

In the latest tirade, Bugingo told listeners of his Msingi programme, that he was going to drag Vision Group and its brands Bukedde, New Vision and Kampala Sun to court for defaming him. He alleges that they attacked him and made him long disgraceful in front of a right thinking public.

One of the lawyers assembled by Vision Group says the company is more than ready, because it knows that Bugingo has no case.

“Pastor Bugingo is the one who started by making allegations about his wife on the pulpit. Vision Group simply reported what was said on the pulpit and therefore there is no basis for his claims. But we are willing and able to go to court to face him,” the lawyer who started practicing law in the 1970s says.

Pastor Bugingo over the last few days has been known to be a paper tiger, who makes threats that he does not follow through. After threatening to divorce his wife, he later found out that he does not have any grounds to divorce her, with her instead being the aggrieved party.
