Vianney Sekajugo’s strike was all Wakiso Giants needed as they upstaged Tooro United in the Uganda Premier League on Friday.
Sekajugo headed home in the 63rd minute to break the deadlock at Wakissha Grounds in Wakiso.
This was the first league goal for Ssekajugo but his second for the Purple Sharks since joining them from Onduparaka FC.
A long ball from Tom Masiko beat two Tooro United defenders (Musa Mukasa and Mike Kawooya) who had a miscommunication with goalkeeper Chrispus Kusiima and Ssekajugo used the opportunity to head the ball home in the 64th minute.
This was Giants’ second win in a row in the league after defeating URA FC 3-1 courtesy of a brace from Karim Ndugwa and a solo from Tom Masiko.
With this result, Wakiso Giants moves third on the table with six points from three games. They share the same number of points with KCCA FC, BUL and leaders Vipers FC.
