Latest news coming in from Swangz Avenue indicates that Nakanwagi Winifred alias Winnie Nwagi and her manager are being hunted by police for failing to show up for a music concert even after receiving money.
According to a one promoter Sendagire, the ‘Matala’ singer had been hired to headline a music show over the weekend in Kyotera district dubbed ‘Entujjo ya Banna Kyotera” but despite being paid, she didn’t show up forcing the angry revelers who were hyped up for her performance to destroy property worth millions of shillings.
The promoter claims that when he visited the Swangz Avenue offices in Industrial Area, Nwagi’s manager asked for Shs 3.8M. He paid Shs 1.9M upfront as a booking fee and remained with Shs 1.9M as balance pending payment upon performance but was shocked when all other artistes he booked showed up apart from Winnie.
We have ascertained that Promoter Sendagire reached an agreement with Nwagi’s manager at the Swangz Avenue’s Industrial Area’s based offices to pay over 3.8million UGX in installments of 1.9m UGX for the singer to perform in Kyotera on Saturday 24th August but to his dismay, the former never turned up hence leading him to a lot of losses.
Ssendagire produced the agreement on which he signed with Gonzaga who represents Nwagi. He claims that even up to today, neither Nwagi nor her manager have reached out to him about the issue.
Having opened up a case file, now Sendagire wants Winnie Nwagi and his manager only identified as Gozanga to compensate him for all the loses he incurred as a result of Nwagi’s failure to turn up at his concert.
